How
to insert a SWF animation into Yahoo SiteBuilder
Adding a Flash Player compatible SWF file made with one of our Amara Software tools into Yahoo
Site Builder
is
a snap. By following these simple steps, you will be up and running
in no time at all and impressing all of your visitors with your
talents!
First create your
animations in one of our software applications and save the created
SWF file to the root of your website directory.
1. Open Yahoo
Sitebuilder.
2. Select the HTML page into which you want to insert the animation,
or start from scratch and open a new page.
3. Save the HTML file to your website directory.
4.
Go to Insert - Code Elements - HTML
(figure 1).

5. An HTML box will
appear. In this box you must copy and paste the HTML code created
in the Amara Software application (figure 2). This HTML code
can be found in our software tools after you have saved the SWF file to
your hard disk.

Important: If you save
the file to a sub directory, e.g. /graphics, you should make sure
that this path is also reflected in the HTML code. The HTML code
automatically generated by Amara software assumes that you save
the file in the root of your webpage. However, if you save the
file into a subdirectory such as /graphics, the correct path to
the file should be "graphics/myfile.swf" instead of
just "myfile.swf"
6. Then go to File - Save
your HTML file.
7. To preview your work go to File - Preview.
8. There you have it, a nice simple way to add a little extra
pizzazz to your website in Yahoo SiteBuilder. Now all you need to do is to publish
the website.
If somehow
this does not work for you, the problem could either be with the name
of your SWF file in the HTML code, or the location of the SWF
file.
Make sure that the filename used in the HTML code is exactly
the same file name as the one that you used to save the SWF file.
Do not use any whitespaces nor upper cases in the file name.
Finally,
it might be that you accidentally did not save the SWF file to
the correct directory, so please make sure that your site contents
look like Figure 3 - with the index.html and the .swf
file located in one and the same directory, and not with the .swf file in a sub-directory, as that won't work.
